This prestigious competition was open to any turner resident in Great Britain and was
for a set exercise, namely:-
A Ceremonial Chalice
The competition was divided into two sections, the first for plain turnings and the second for ornamental turnings
for which Prizes of £1250, £750, £500 and £250
were awarded in each section.
First prize of £1250 (together with an annual subscription to "Woodturning"
presented by The Guild of Master Craftsmen Publications) was awarded to Paul Coker.
