Legal Title

The legal title of the Company, as laid down by its original Charter of 1604, is the Master, Wardens and Commonalty of the Mistery or Art of the Turners of London.

The Charter also laid down that there should be a Master and two Wardens together with at least thirteen, but not more than twenty-four, Assistants to aid and assist the Master and Wardens in all matters concerning the "good ordering and government of the Company".  Click here for the full text of the Charter.
